Disabled access & provisions

The Capel Show is keen to support disabled people visiting the show. This is by means of physical adjustments, but also by providing as much information in advance about what’s available to allow you to make as much of the show as possible.

We have decided to support the Nimbus Access Card scheme. This national scheme card acts as a photo ID that can be used to easily communicate access requirements to events and venues, so that the venues can provide accessibility to the needs of their visitors.

We would like to do more but as our site is a temporary one, there are limits as to what is feasible.

Level Access

Our 8 acre event ground is a gently undulating recreation ground which should not pose any problems when moving around by wheelchair.

Essential Companion

Carers or essential companions are invited to support a visitor with a disability or special requirements free of charge. Access card holders with +1 gain automatic free entry for a companion.

Queues / Crowds

To avoid or minimise queues at the gate, please purchase your ticket in advance online from the Capel Box Office.
There is a dedicated fast lane for pre-purchased tickets.

Distance

Disabled Car Parking facilities are located near the entrance/exit to Visitors Car Park P1. This is the closest to the Show Ground as possible but still 200m to the entrance of the show.*
The car park is farmer’s field which may be rutted and therefore not suit all wheel chair users.

Toilet Access

Designated accessible toilets are available in two locations in the grounds.
1) Near the entrance/exit (West)
2) On the South Side of the show ground. Both can be identified through 30ft high sails.

*Note: Furthermore once in the grounds, this is an 8 acre area with no transport within the grounds.
