Much of the Porsche 911's development had resulted from the factory's racing program. Due to racing homologation rules, a number of road going cars had to be built. This was the reason for the creation of 'Project 930' - the legendary 911 Turbo. Introduced in 1975, from 1978 the Turbo's engine was enlarged to 3.3 litres, gaining an intercooler in the process; power increased to 300bhp and the top speed, of what was the fastest accelerating road car of its day, went up to 160mph. This is an example of that 3.3 litre model you see here. The Turbo's characteristic flared wheel arches and 'tea tray' rear spoiler are iconic, made famous by the Athena poster of the 1980's. This car was supplied new by AFN Guildford in March 1985 with a 'special wishes' two-tone leather interior and has only four owners and a little over 34,000 miles covered from new. -
