The 541S was the last of the 541 series. Of the 127 made, all but 20 were fitted with a GM/RR Hydramatic automatic gearbox The power came from a 4 litre Austin engine fitted with a Weslake 'head and triple carbs. It has disc brakes all round and was the first British car to be fitted with integral inertia-reel seat belts. -

This car was prepared and entered into the 2000 Historic Monte Carlo rally. It did a couple of hill climbs, and was then laid up in a barn for over 21 years, until the man i bought it off bought it. I bought it a year later in 2022. I drive it as often as i can, it's a great fun car, and a real head turner. -

Daimler's only sports car! This has the Edward Turner designed V8 which also went into the Daimler V8 250 saloon. Voted the ugliest car at the 1959 New York motor show, it certainly is a 'marmite' car. Originally manufactured in 1960, I purchased it in 2016 and completed a body off rebuild in 2019 including several modifications such as a servo assisted clutch, rack and pinion steering and an overdrive gearbox all of whcih make it a much more pleasant car to drive. -
